Many businesses would like to advertise to get new customers but the expense to do that can be very prohibitive.

So many small business who have a retail location located on a major boulevard or highway will rent or lease a mascot or some other type of costume and have an employee stand on the corner waving a banner or sign directing them to the store.

In many cases this can be a great way of advertising and getting people to remember your store and come in and buy something. Many times you will see this for income tax businesses. Hey will have an employee on the corner in a statue of liberty costume waving a banner saying “get your taxes done here!”. This is an excellent way to advertise for accountants and other tax related businesses.

What about other stores, are there costumes they could rent for their employees?

If you had a lingerie store you could consider having one of your not so shy employees wear a school girl costume or a nurse costume. These do not have to be revealing costumes as they make ones that are more conservative.

If you have a police or military surplus store try having someone in a police costume.

Offer a visit with Santa or the Easter bunny during the holidays. This is a very common but excellent way to bring in the crowds. Have someone dressed in a Santa suit or an Easter bunny costume and let children take pictures with them.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas on how you could rent or lease some costumes for your business.
